Abstract


Alveolar bone resorption which occurs as aresult of teeth extraction or periodontal diseasecauses functional and esthetic problems. In case ofsevere jaw-bone atrophy, bone augmentationprocedures are becoming necessary prior to implantplacement. During the planning of such cases, conebeam computed tomography (CBCT) examinationprovides detailed qualitative and quantitative dataabout maxillofacial bones with reduced radiationexposure. This article illustrated the implanttreatment of a patient with severe atrophic maxillafollowing bone augmentation using iliac graft in thelight of CBCT examination with 2-year of followup.
